Family time

Good evening dear readers and Happy-Almost-Friday! I hope that each of you have had a wonderful week. I know that my week started off to a good start with a visit to Hattiesburg to see my family for Easter. It was so nice to go back to my home church and see sweet friends that morning and to eat a delicious Easter lunch at my parent's house that afternoon. After going home, I realized that I had not been there since Christmas. Where does the time go?!

We decided to take a few family pictures in light of Will and I coming home.

These two people raised me. I am so blessed to call them my parents.

Sibling love. We did miss our oldest sister Amy though!

Ben, Will, Hannah, and Me

My little sister, Hannah. She leads by example, and I look up to her in so many ways.

What a wonderful day we had together!

The older I get, the more I appreciate and cherish the times spent with my family. We do not get together as often as I'd like now that we are "growing up", but when we do, we always have so much fun together full of eating, laughing,and funny family stories. I am thankful that we could spend Easter together, and look forward to spending a whole week with them at the beach this summer!

Thanks for always reading, y'all! I appreciate you and your thoughtful comments. If you aren't a "follower" already, become one! I wanna know who is keeping up with us so that I can keep up with you.

Ta-ta for now! Gotta get up early to watch the Royal Wedding since we don't have tevo. Is anybody else with me?!

daisies galore!

As you guys know from yesterday's post, it was my birthday. For my birthday, I got not only one bouquet of beautiful Gerber daisies, but two! My husband woke me up with his in the morning, and yesterday afternoon the doorbell rang and lo and behold there was another lovely bouquet of bright-colored Gerber daisies sent from my in-laws! {They know me too well!} By the way, have I mentioned how thankful I am for the sweet family that I married in to? Well, I am. And it's not just because they send me flowers on my birthday. They are some of the most thoughtful and generous people I have ever met. {That could be a whole other post in itelf!}

The above flowers are from Will and the below flowers are from my in-laws.

Speaking of in-laws, here is a picture of all of us on our wedding day.

So, you might be wondering, "Why does she keep talking about these flowers?" I guess you could say that flowers are pretty and they make me happy. More than that, when flowers are given or sent to you for some sort of occasion {or it may not be any occasion at all} they serve as a constant reminder of who took the time to think and remember you.

Because I have all of these flowers now, I want to enjoy them as much as I can. So, I have decided to make "mini" vases of daises to place all around the house. That way, I can have a little bit of happiness in every room of the house. {Well maybe not every room, but still, the ones we are in the most.}

And even after I made all of these mini vases, I still have these beauties to enjoy!

There you have it! I have created six smaller arrangements from the two larger arrangements. The best part about making smaller arrangements out of the bigger ones is that you get to enjoy a little bit of happiness all over the house!

23 is okay with me!

Today is my birthday which means I am another year older,another year wiser???. I sometimes don't know what to think about being another year older but I am. I sometimes wish I could go back in time and be a little kid for a day. The care-free days of roller-blades and trampolines, pop-cycles and push-ups, spotlight and 'go fish.' {The list could go on} Coming to grips that those days have come to an end can be a hard thing at times for me, but at the same time it teaches me to appreciate and enjoy every chapter of life that I am in. My high school and college days have come to an end, but I am now learning to love my life as a wife, aunt, and a working gal ;)Every new chapter of life is sweet, and it reminds me of the Lord's continual faithfulness through it all.

I feel like life is all about learning. I am learning to count my blessings daily. For me, one of the biggest blessings in my life is my husband Will.

This a picture of the two of us today. We were introduced to each other exactly 6 years ago as prom dates for Will's senior prom. Little did we know that 6 years later we would be married. I often tease Will by saying, "You were just a high school prom date." Nooo, Will is much more to me than that. I could go on and on about all of the things I am thankful for about Will and all of his amazing qualities and characteristics, but I won't bored y'all with that. Instead, I will show you a few pictures of his thoughtfulness to me by making my birthday extra special!

This morning, I woke up to this delicious breakfast and beautiful bouquet of Gerbers {my favorite}!

He took me to dinner tonight at Walker's where we wined and dined. We shared the portabella fries for an appetizer, and then I enjoyed my house salad and scrumptious shrimp and grits for my entree. He then surprised me at home with a yummy cookie cake!

He invited these people over to celebrate, too :)

Needless to say, my birthday has been wonderful. I am so thankful for my 23 years of life and can't wait to see what the other chapters of my life have to unfold. Until then, I am content and happy of where the Lord has me. 23 is okay with me :) Night, all!
